Spoon River Flyers Club History and Information
The SPOON RIVER FLYERS started out with a meeting held at Elmwood Pizza
Co. on the evening of January 3 1995. There were just a handful of members
at that first meeting. From those humble beginnings The Spoon River Flyers
has grown to over 50 members spread out over the area. Many members are from
the Galesburg area but we have members from as far away as Bushnell and Hanna City.
Our flying field is located 3/4 mile NE of Maquon on Douglas Blacktop.
We have bi-monthly meetings that are held at the club field in Maquon
when weather permits and at the Hungry Hobo restaurant in Galesburg during
inclement weather. Club Dues are $30 annually.
